Zenzile's Way Consulting was the result of combining my Talents, Abilities, Gifts and Skills (TAGS- you'll see more on these) into an entity that would allow me to do work I love while supporting causes, interests and people I believe in.
Zenzile (pronounced Zen ZEE lay) is a Xhosian (South African ethnic group) name meaning "She has done it herself" or "she has her own things." I had been enamoured with the name for over a decade, and could not get it out of my head or heart. Finally, at what should have been one of the greatest moments of my life- completing the coursework necessary to earn my PhD in Sociology, I was faced with a double job loss, which forced me to leave the program and relocate across the country to return home to my family.
The job loss forced me to pull out all the stops, gather up all of my skills and experiences, and use what I felt was one of my strongest assets and lifelong gifts, my voice. I gave my first public speech at age 13 at Youth Day at my church, and had only recently rediscovered my speaking voice through a gig arranged by my classmate, and facing the job loss, I knew I had only one saving grace...my voice.
Zenzile's Way was birthed when I reached out to an author I admired greatly, and offered editing services. She accepted, and we have been writing and editorial partners for years. Since that time, I've begun to offer more services- including writing (print and social media), coaching and of course speaking.
We began this blog as a space to discuss communications, consulting, entrepreneurship and of course the importance of OWNING your voice. We look forward to interacting with you, answering your questions, providing solutions and helping you communicate through transcendent, distinct, authentic communication solutions.
